Track scrubbed tyres and obvious signs of regular use. The owner had just parked up so it was still hot and pinking, and smelt as though it had just been ridden properly. What grade fuel do them things run on? It smelt really oily.. in a good way.

I don't know, but since they're a road legal bike I'd have thought probably no higher than 98/99 RON, which is widely available in UK.

Different countries have different grades though, maybe ECU is mapped to suit the country it was delivered to?


Might be relevant, might not... BBC F1 last year had a feature with Fernando Alonso driving the Ferrari F1 car round Mugello using Shell V-Power (99 RON), and using F1 control fuel, and they performed the same. Maybe MotoGP fuel will be the same?

I believe MotoGP Fuel is now of a 'road grade' rather than the Jungle Juice of old.

I think this changed when Mick Doohan was racing as it was one of the things he became a little pissed off with.
