In a follow up to a question I've asked before... which I didn't get a satisfactory answer.... with pod air filters... and possibly answering my own question... I had a flat spot between 2-3k rpm, I adusted the air/fuel mixture screw 1/6 turn and it moved the flat spot to 4-5k rpm, should I adjust the screws to 10-11k+ rpm since the red line is 12k+ assuming that if I get that high on the rev range I've passed maximum torque and would just be wasting fuel.... OOOORRRR should I think about buying GPz 900 carbs for my 750 and adjust them to suit?

Tis a bit of a PITA ripping the water pipes off, but a bit more to fit a stock air filter, and I figure with 5/6 turn on the mixture screw I'd have the flat spot at the top of the rev range... thus all but eliminating the flat spot (unless I'm drag racing).... or should I find a way of porting the engine pressure into the air filters, or fabricating side panels that force air into the filters (as they seem closed off with full fairings)... hope it makes sense to someone... and they can give advice

You can't push the problem up the rev range like that by turning a screw. Try lifting the needle a notch.

If it were that simple we would all be tuning gods!

Reset the mixture screw, it isn't doing anything of significance. As Pete said, lift the needle a notch. If it isn't notched then put a small washer, about 0.5mm thick, under the needle circlip. See how it feels and add washers accordingly, but not more than three.

You should also consider fitting bigger jets. There is a possiblity that the bike is running a bit lean with pod filters.

Ok, so you have played with the air screw, but have you changed the 'jets' to suit the new filters. This is going to be the root cause of your problem, you won't get rid of this flatspot by playing the with air screw alone.
