So I want to do as much of the mechanical stuff myself, and for the most part am normally fairly confident that I can do the jobs needed with a little time. My brake drum shoes are definately needing replaced, they don't work particularly well and feel as though they are starting to seize, so I'm not using the rear brake untill I get them sorted.

My questions are... Does anyone have a link to the right shoes for the YBR? I found a cheapy set on Ebay but these are most likely gonna be dreadful. It's a 2010 model I have.

And also... How difficult is it likely to be changing them? I've never done anything to do with drum brakes before except removing them from a classic mini :/

i have a new ybr 125, and even though i had never done too much work on any previous bikes i had, the ybr is very easy to work on. ive done several jobs on mine myself.
changing the rear brake shoes is realively straight forward, just a case of removing the rear wheel and they pop out.

as for buying them, www.wemoto.com stock a good range of parts for every bike ive had, good quality parts and next day delivery everytime. heres a link for your 2010 ybr 125

also check for rear brake lever operation (foot lever) linkage arm and also the cam that operates the brake shoes as thaese item s are prone to seizure, also clean the drum itself with fine emery paper and check for high spots and wear. Never assume that brake shoe replacement alone will cure the problem.
