You may have shot yourself in the foot.
It is sometimes worth one, maybe two lessons to identify and iron out any bad habits. Lessons generally take you around the expected test route(s) so you get to know any funny junctions or road layout.

However, that said if you're confident riding the bike then you should have little to worry about. Just remember plenty of lifesavers while on the move and before setting off etc. and don't ride like a prick (think safety, keep looking ahead).

Best of luck, post back with your experience Thumbs Up

I have to agree with you on that one but the local instructor was on holiday and is only a weekend man, he does have some good rates though Wink £15 an hour :o.

I looked around at other lessons and even on my own bike they wanted 4 hours a day minimum and £150 per day, which i find a bit OTT when i can see if i pas this one, have around 5 hours of tuition and another test for the same price from the local man.

that bieng said i am quite confident on my bike and feel like if i am not a prat i will pass :L

inb4 i've failed message later

Ok,, Knowledge of roads is NOT the be all and end all.. your always gonna veture out somewhere on your bike in places, Towns/cities/villages you DONT know.., your not gonna use the excuse oh my riding was bad because i didnt know the road structure are you..

You have a SAT NAV in your ear telling you where to go.. he will give you plenty of time to tell you where he wants you to go.. all you have to do is read the road and do it in a good safe time making all the necersary checks.
One tip i got told was loose the examiner IE: if he's behind you your in the right road position, if he's told you to turn right and has moved into the right hand lane you should ALSO be in the right hand lane.. secondly if your looking for the examiner your making more than enough mirror checks.. just DO NOT forget to look ahead.. way ahead.. 15 seconds of road ahead,, not 2 car bumpers infront of you, see the turnings and the car pulling out of it way before you get there not as you get there. OBS OBS and more OBS..

MAN UP go beat the living light out of the box you put your confidence into and restore that implant back into your skull.. you CAN do this you HAVE ALREADY done this.., the area your gonna ride around has no meaning to you other than your own ability to ride safely with instruction from some geezer behind giving you ADVANCED instructions on where your gonna go next.

Best of luck on your test P2 mate and we all look forward to hearing your Successful relief story once its over.. in about 4 hours.. Go get em tiger. Very Happy

Relax, listen to the Sat Nav, pay attention to the road signs as they'll tell you what you need to know in an area you're not familiar with........Don't forget those obs! Good luck. Thumbs Up

Doesn't matter where you go, as long as you go there safely. If you think you're about to head in a different way than you've been told, don't try and make a late correction, just brass neck it and continue on your own route confidently.

And enjoy it, it's just a bike ride. Very Happy

I assume you aren't going to book a lesson with a local instructor, every time you ride to a new town?

Just do what the road signs and listen to the sat nav bloke. A safe ride in Penzance is still a safe ride in Aberdeen.

EDIT: Good luck too fella Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Tunbridge Wells isn't bad mate, just watch out going through the town, the layout is fairly deceptive.
