It is the best.
If I could make it, I would - one day I shall go to Asia and learn how properly!
Currently trying to decide which is my favourite out of the sushi chains in london ____________________ CBT done - 24/03/2012, theory test done - 03/04/2012.. Mod 1 done -26/06/2012, Mod 2 done - 29/06/2012. Current steed: Cage.

Top grub. The UK stuff is somewhat pale by comparison to proper Japanese fare though. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

I went on a course on how to make Sushi some time last year, and had a really good laugh doing so. Once you've got the basic techniques down, it's actually pretty easy to do. The only thing that's a pain in the arse is dealing with the white vinegar/water/rice combination - it's really sticky, and your hands will be [b]covered/b] in starch by the end of it. Other than that, it's both fun and easy to make. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

I had to eat it 5 times to like it. I am not into smoked salmon but like it grilled. At first my mind and tongue couldn't really figure out this sushi thing, and then on the 5th time, it just felt, right. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

PS. That crap in Tesco's and Sainsbury isn't Sushi. Go to proper Sushi places that have a good reputation of freshness and be prepared to be amazed. It will be like riding a 50 cc Gilera to jumping onto a Triumph Speed Triple. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

I love Sushi but it doesn't love me
The first time i had it (in Japan) I was violently ill the next day. I tried again a few months later and spent the majority of a 14 hour flight from Tokyo to LHR in the bog.
I wish I could work out what I was allergic to so I could eat everything else. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

I love the look of Sushi - very appealing to the eye.
But im not a fish person at all
Once in a blue moon I will try some tho, am going to the Sushi bar near me soon. I do enjoy the veggi types that are about. |

I'm very partial to both Sushi and (especially) Sashimi. The last time I had really good Sashimi was in a Loch Fyne restaurant in Beaconsfield. Wasn't cheap, but boy-oh-boy was it gooooood!!
Being BCF's resident Koreaphile, I also love Kimbap (lit. seaweed rice), which is the Korean version of Maki rolls.
They (the Koreans) do put some odd stuff in there, like cheese (or even Spam), for example.
Kimbap is usually served with a very thick soya paste for dipping, and some Banchan (side dishes) like (the ubiquitous) Kimchi and pickled radish. I never encountered Wasabi/ginger over there, but the rolls seem to be much more flavoursome, and therefore don't require much additional seasoning. ____________________ Space Monkey #7

Until recently there was a Yo Sushi place locally, where I'd occasionally get a bento box to take with me on a night shift - really love the stuff, but unfortunately the shop closed/moved.
I spent a number of years being over-cautious about trying it, but found that I really like most of it.... and the bento box was ideal for me, cos I could try a number of different types and flavours.
I keep telling myself that I should try to find an alternative, but as already mentioned, it can be expensive, so I'm back to being cautious about splashing the cash just to try out if the alternative is as good as Yo Sushi ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N
