Just bought an Oxford battery optimiser to look after my battery over winter, used it a total of 3 times and now it's just dead. Does anyone know why this could be? Am I being a muppet or is it fooked?

Where'd you get it from? The exact same thing happened to me with an accumen one. Bought it on ebay and the packaging wasnt complete so im sure it was a previously returned item. Send it back, get money back.

Never heard of any problems with Accumate/Optimate chargers.
However, had come across lots saying the Oxford ones were flaky and that's from 4 years back on.

See about sending back for refund. Sales of goods act fit for purpose and all that. Also EU regulations say goods must have a minimum life expectancy (e.g. 1 year manufacturer warranty on washing machine when they should cover it for 2 to 3 years).

Thumbs Up

+1 vote for Optimate
I have the Optimate 3SP, and it's still not missed a beat in 5-6 years of regular use

Take it back to place of purchase. It should be covered under warrantee.
It may sound stupid but I will mention it anyway.
A lot of returned chargers turn out to be O.K just the power lead isn't pushed in far enough. Check this, and if still dead, contact your place of purchase.

Thumbs Up
