What is the idol of a Honda NS125r Mine is popping away at 1500. Is that ok. But some times if i don't keep the reeves up for a few mins it will die out. Might be because its been started from cold. It just seams to sound a bit more healthy at 2000. Cheers for reading and cheers for all feed back. Thumbs Up

the nsr is meant to idle at 1400 give or take 100rpm let it warm up for 30-60 sec before going any wear you may need to use a bit of choke if you get problems when its warm try and richen the mix

you should use the choke when you first start the bike for a while then let the choke in. this should stop it stalling

Yeah. I also have a another problem. When i'm putting it into gear it jumps loads. Not like just a bit and sometimes that stalls is it something to do with the culch cable is it starched of something? And to top it off when i try and pull away from a uphill i have front break on it will start to pull then cut out it isn't that there isn't enough reeves i don't know what it is. HELP!!!

how many miles on the clock? i would adjust the slack on the clutch cable if you have a lot of slack you will have to adjust from behind the fairings. the right hand crankcase side of the bike there should be the bottom end of the clutch cable. there is two nuts here that you use to adjust big amounts of slack. If it is not that bad you may need to just adjust from the handle bars. off the top of my head i think you need 2-3mm of freeplay

Hi

Try adjusting the cable, but if that is fine then the chances are the clutch plates are sticking together when it is parked. Try changing the gearbox oil.

As to the choke I would say only use it when needed, and if you can get away with stopping it stalling by using the throttle then do that instead.

All the best

Keith

when your nsr is cold it is best to use some choke as it is pumpin loads of 2stroke around the engine and this will help it to last longer.
Cool Thumbs Up
