I've noticed a few people mentioning Skyrim recently, I've been meaning to buy it since before it was released but I haven't had time/money for gaming for a while, so I am currently a bit out of the loop.

Anyway, I am going to buy a copy of Skyrim for the 360 and wanted to know if there was a special edition or similar with add on packs included (not one of the collector packs that costs >£50 with a toy dragon) or if there was a code included with the game that makes buying it second hand a bad idea?

I.e. Forza comes with a code for a few extra tracks that would be used up if you bought it 2nd hand. Is there a similar deal with Skyrim?

Cheers

I do not recall mine having a code within the box.

The game is very good. If you like immersive role playing games then you will certainly like Skyrim. It is huge.

However, once you have completed the main quest line it can become a little repetative. Go here, kill this. Go there, kill that.

Also, If like me you level a character to 60+ and have all the best deadric and dragonbone weapons with enchantments galore and can one hit kill a dragon the game loses all its charm. Running into a dungeon, pulling every occupant to yourself and then killing them all with a couple of sword slashes gets boring pretty quick.

Downloads. I know there is one vampire based d/l so far. I'm of the belief there is now a 2nd d/l for the xbox but haven't played the game in a month or more so this is just what I've heard on the interweb.

Is the game worth buying? YES.

Don't worry about the d/l content yet though. You have tens of hours of fun on the main questline to complete firtsly.

Rumps.

Cheers for that Thumbs Up .

It does look good, I was a bit disappointed with Oblivion after how good Morrowind was but I've heard Skyrim is much better and since Oblivion, there have been two excellent fallout games for Bethesda to practice with.

Not disadvantage to buying second hand, all downloadable content is available through XBox Live, paid for with MS points. Only when they release GOTY edition do they include all additional content.

Give your missus fair warning too, she won't be seeing you for 5-6 hours at a time once you start playing, the time absolutely flys by, very easy to lose an entire evening without realising it.

I did like Oblivion, but completely agree with you about Morrowind. Best. Game. Ever.

Aww, poor gaming widow. I got Skyrim, I loved it, just haven't had a chance to play it recently since moving back to the parents, they've just gone on holiday, guess what I'll be digging out whilst they're gone?! Poor boyfriend, he will sit and watch for a bit, but it's not quite the 2 person experience you should be getting up to whilst the parents are away is it?

Im a massive Elder Scrolls fan, but skyrim is absolute shite Laughing

There is so much that is missing from the games, that was in the previous ones that its just painfull to play. The whole combat system is rubish and depends too much upon the duel wield system and some shitty final blow camera thats stolen from Fallout.

Then you have the terrible cities, which are no where near the scale of Oblivion or Morrowind. Someone worked out that there are only 5 houses in the capital, for 300 people Laughing

Of course you will enjoy it though. Im just moaning because to me its a dissapointment Sad

There are two expansions available for the xBox right now:

1) Dawnguard (vampire and vampire-hunter quests).
2) Hearthfire (build your own house and adopt kids).

There is also a fuckton of mods that vastly improve the game but...for PC only.
