In my garage is a CB400RR that has been gathering dust for at least two years and now I have been told to get rid of it. It runs, but misfires so I was going to sell it as spare or repair etc.

The problem is I can't find the log book and I can't ever remember having one. As the bike has never been on the road since I had it (a few track days only) this hasn't been a problem but I can't ever remember getting a sorn notice either.

On the DVLA site an inquiry brings up this

Date of Liability 27 03 2010
Date of First Registration 13 02 1998
Year of Manufacture 1988
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 398cc
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour BLUE
Vehicle Type Approval Not Available
Vehicle Excise Duty rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £0.00
12 Months Rate £36.00

How do I proceed from here? If I apply for a log book am I going to get raped for not declaring it sorn. It seems a waste to break it for parts and if I sell it without a log book is it just going to come back to me when the buyer applies for one.

Any ideas chaps and chapesses.
