you know they keep trying to make that all rounder bike ,cruiser, sports, tourer sort of thing . one suits all kind of bike

how about a automated ergonomics system that at a flick of a switch sets the seat height, adjusts rear shock and handlebars posistion .
so you can choose between sports ,tourer, (wtvr else) . aaaa backs caining today . ah ye ill switch to tourer mode BEEEP

but nvm that .im sure you will say its a stupid idea anyway . and its more than likely been done a dozen times . i dont know i have not checked . but how do you think that would pan out anyway ? would you use electric motors or hydraulics .

really
i just wanted to talk a bit about the funny looking bikes that have been surfacing lately . is that really what the markets demand is . a tractor that shagged a moon buggy and had a ugly baby .

whats wrong with a nice simple bike . none of this million pieces of plastic jigsaw puzzle where u screw twenty bits together to make it into one piece . why not just make it one piece!!! . whats all that about

got talking to an old gent . he was saying how he would like to make a complete engine from ceramics or something . had to swerve round a buss while thinking about china plates and plastic jigsaw puzzles .

also while im at it CONTI tyres is there two brands . conti and continental Thinking one being made in korea . ? or there all the same bag ?

ty. and goodnight

Ceramic engines aren't a new idea, they were developed in the 80s. Fantastic things though - no oil or water needed - instantly warm (no need to run rich whilst cold) and almost zero wear. Downside was increased manufacturing costs and risk of spectacular failures (ceramic can crack if there is the tiniest imperfection) so they never made it into the real world.

It's probably either not possible to make it in one piece, or the cost of tooling up and manufacturing it (cost/time per unit) could be many times the cost of making it up from smaller pieces. If it was cheaper/quicker to make it any other way, then you can bet your bottom Dollar they'd be doing it.

It could also be to allow access to certain areas and to make repairs cheaper (only need to replace a small part rather than a complete assembly)
