webcam recording software?

need a decent webcam recording software for recording MY webcam. not someone elses. google searches are cluttered full of software for recording someone elses webcam but not yours. and the few that do return are crap.

can anyone recomend me a good software for it?

we only need it to make some short videos of model progress. so nothing heavy.
