Hey!

Took the Chaly for it's MOT this morning.
Thought I'd give it a fresh thread so the pictures are up top.

Got to the test centre, and it'd popped a couple of bulbs. The replacement Reg/Rec I'd used was over-charging, think it needs a battery either way.

Andy, the tester was a legend, helped me get everything working quickly, and put me through with a clean sheet. Top guy! Thumbs Up

Well recommend him to any biker for MOT's and general work.

The bike's so fun to ride. Took Rox out on it for a bit too. Quite funny two's up. Over little humps, the rear tyre rubs in the arch. And round right handers, the brake pedal touches down after about 10degrees of lean. Laughing

And my next project lined up. Potentially a cheap winter hack. Will put some MX wheels on it (14" front 12" rear), and hack it around in the snow etc.

Had such a fun day on it. Was amusing toying with a cbr125 today too. Dont think he was expecting it to take off so quickly. Aha.

Iain. RL frames are readily available on ebay but they do come at a cost.

The other option is to buy a generic non-runner Chinese bike (125cc or under) then just donor the V5 onto a pit bike frame.
Bit dodgey, but to be fair, the entire monkey bike population do it, and upgrade frames to alloy ones etc. So this would be no different to doing that.

What copper is going to identify a Shineray XY125, over a Shineray GX125. Razz

Went for a good run today.
Took the bike from Sittingbourne, through to Gillingham, and then up through Strood, Higham, And stopped in at Ebbsfleet.
Around 30 miles.

From there, I took a scenic route through to the Oakdene, past Brands etc.

Did a total of 130km today (80 miles), and put about £6 worth of petrol in it. So it returns around 80mph, which is impressive for such a highly strung engine.

Easily pulled right up to 140kph on the speedo, (86mph). Probably an optimistic figure, but it did sit at ease with the flow of traffic on the main run of the A2 up to bluewater. And I have no reason to believe the flow of traffic does under 70mph anyway). So it's probably good for 80mph.

Few teething problems to overcome. It leeks oil out of the filler cap (Damaged cap), so I need to get a new one.

Wont use the bottom 1/2 of the tank, so need to constantly fill up.

Other than that, really chuffed with it. Surprised a few peds, and 125 bikes today. Razz

I dont like launching it, as there is a lot of chassis twist and it lunges. Laughing
Once rolling, and into second, it will pull pretty damn fast. Made a kid on a CBR125 feel silly yesterday. And today, a lad in a Fiesta Mk5 Zetec S (1.6 16v) tried to race me off the lights, and the Chaly comfortably sat next to it up to about 50mph before we slowed for a roundabout. Was a LOL moment indeed.
