The missus was at a car boot at the weekend and spotted a bike security chain. Well, it's always nice to have a spare even if it's not an Almax.

Anyhow the cloth covering the links is absolutely filthy. Can't really handle it without having then to clean your hands.

So just wondered best way to get the impregnated oil etc. out and give it a clean.

Before someone says washing machine I can't really put it through the washing machine. No really, as someone who values his sex life, I can't.

So any hints or tips. I did think is there some foam stuff you put on and then rise/wipe off? (maybe thinking carpets though).

Very Happy Thumbs Up

I'd get rid of the oil with paraffin and a good scrub, then wash the paraffin out.

Superstrength washing up solution would do, and it's cheap. Once the horrible smelly shit is out, see if you can persuade her to put your now semi-clean, lemon smelling thingy-o into the machine. Or take it down to the launderette Smile
