Well, it entitles you to ride a 500 on the road while under test, that's about it.

What a bizarre question. Did you imagine that you might have half a license? Like, you can ride a big bike unaccompanied on the road, but only turn left? Eh?

Although maybe a silly question Very Happy

But usually when you have a test there is some sort of reward or achievement in this case there is neither !!!

Who cares when you tell people you have passed mod 1 specially when they ask well what does that let you do ??? it gives you no rights and it doesnt make you sound cool... Crying or Very sad

So what do you get for mod 1 hmmmmmm what do you get for your 15 green quids !! or maybe more ? if you do nothing else for 2 years they even take it away from you again ...

Shocked

The reward for passing your Mod1 is that it entitles you to a crack at the Mod2 which in turn gives you a full licence (if you pass) without passing Mod1 you have nothing really other than a poxy cbt course.

I saw the Mod1 as the gateway to then having just one more thing to do to pass my test. You shouldn't see learning to ride on the road as a one stage test. It's really a 4 part process. 1) CBT 2)Theory test 3) Mod1 4) Mod2.

All parts of the process go towards proving to the examiners that you are safe and competent to ride on the road. Why shouldn't they test your slow riding skills? Your knowledge of the highway code? Etc etc.....at the end of the day, its in the students best interest really because its YOU that has to drive safely and not get killed and you need to prove this to the relevent examiners.
