 |
|
Hi all,
Following on from my first post here: https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=254879
I don't own a bike (yet!) so I am looking for a training centre that is friendly, has a good reputation at teaching/passing and can offer all the necessary gear and bike.
I am in North London, around the Southgate/Enfield/Barnet area.
Does anyone have experience with trainers round here and who would you recommend ?
Thanks |

I used Enfield School of Motorcycling - https://www.esofm.co.uk/
They're a weekends only operation, all the instructors are great, with about 30 years riding experience each, friendly, patient and know their stuff. CBT is £89 at the moment (bit of a price war going on in Enfield!), and the full DAS is about 300 quid, all inclusive with a crack at Mod1 & Mod2. Big bikes are GS500s'. They do the tests from the centre at Waltham Cross which equates to Mod2 routes either around Chingford and/or Epping - about as easy as it gets.
The contact is David taylor, their website appears to be down at the moment, but if you call someone at https://www.walthamcrossmotorcycles.co.uk/contact_waltham_cross.shtml they'll put you in touch. ____________________ They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa, hey-hey,
the men in white coats are coming to take me away.

Thanks Andy, I will look into them but to be honest I would prefer to do my training on weekdays as I have some time on my hands at the moment.
Any other suggestions ? |

I did my CBT a month or so ago with RAKTrain in Harlow (now Anglia Bike Company - www.angliabikecompany.com), and am going back next week to do my DAS.
They have a 3.5 acre mock-road site you can practice in safety before going out on the road. Their circuit has a roundabout, junctions, inclines and full road markings. I found it great for the practice during my CBT, hence why I am going back.
