Just changed the fork seals on my GPz

Not sure if anyone else does it this way or not, but it took me about 25-30 minutes.... and the only other seals I'd replaced were on a 125 intruder.

Anyway...

Rather than taking the brake calipers, wheel, mud guard etc. off.... I just took the master cylinder off the handlebars then dropped the whole fork assembly down (hoisted the front of the bike up with a ratchet strap over the steel beam in the garage)

With the fork propped against the workbench I popped the dust seal off, removed the clip (and strangely a large washer between the clip and seal), then just punched a straight edge screwdriver through the old seal and popped them off.

I used the old ones on top of the new ones and tapped them into place then removed the old ones again.

Just curious how many others do them this way, or is it better to strip the whole lot down anyway?

I prefer to strip the forks down so that I can inspect and clean the internals and get a close look at the stanchion too but whatever works for you
