Passed my Mod 1 at 8.15 this morning. I'm pleased as punch. Razz

Did get one minor , so didn't get that 100% I was hoping for, but who cares!

I got my minor mark for not stopping quick enough on the Emergency Stop. To be honest I knew I wasn't stopping quick enough, but it had just started to rain slightly and with the number of people I've been hearing that failed for locking the rear wheel up, I just hedged my bets and took the minor rather than lock up and instant fail.

I did have a funny senior moment though right at the start. I made my way over to the manual handling green cones, parked up etc, then when he said to begin moving the bike to the other green cones by hand, for some bizarre reason I got back on the bike...hahahaha....then I thought to myself immediately 'what the F*ck am I doing?' Laughing , then got off and did the section fine. I bet the examiner thought 'what is he doing?' - I just put it down to nerves.

Now I've just gotta book the Mod2....in two minds wether or not to do it without training (like I did with Mod1) or book in for a day?

Well done mate! Thumbs Up

I done my mod 2 without any training, as long as you're a safe rider, you remember to cancel those indicators and do those lifesavers properly then you'll be fine! Smile I did do a few hours practice with a friend that had previously completed his mod 2, but other than that I was on my own!

Best of luck mate!

Well done gent! Thumbs Up

For Mod 2, you might want to consider a lesson beforehand. Sure if you fail and have to rebook you'll still be quids in but I'd be mindful of the amount of people trying to get test places. Having said this you'd probably still have time to rebook if needed. Good luck. Thumbs Up

Yeah! Get in! Another member of the Mod 1 passee group! Yay us! Just one minor is FAB, I win for zero though Razz Hehe only kidding, good luck with the Mod 2 - I'd personally invest in just one lesson to check you're doing everything at the right time and haven't got into any bad habits Wink

Oh, while I remember....if anyone's interested whose thinking of doing their Mod1...I have some coloured cones and distance marker string for practising the Mod1 manoeuvres on a car park, if you want them you can have them, you'd just need to pay for the postage, which I'd imagine would only be a couple of quid.

Well worth having them to practice as it obviously didn't do me any harm.....let me know if youre interested. ::

Well done on the pass Thumbs Up

I nearly messed up on my E-Stop. Went too slow first time (47kph) then on 2nd attempt went 62kph. He said I was a hairs breadth of not stopping in time Confused

But hey a pass is a pass Mr. Green

Well, I've decided first off to have a crack at it myself, have a good look on YouTube etc to get as many tips as possible, get a load more road experience in the coming weeks and see how I get on. Thankfully having passed the Mod1 first time means that I've got enough time to pass before the changes in Jan.

Just booked the Mod2, there's a 4 week wait (just under) so that will hopefully give me time to fine tune everything and if god forbid I fail then wil still be plenty of time for a retake or 2....although if I do fail miserably first time I shall get a few lessons booked before my 2nd attempt.
Shocked
They did have a slot for tomorrow...but I chickened out!

Hahaha, I was seriously considering it what with the bravado of passing Mod1, but I put so much into making sure I passed mod1 that I really haven't put much time into mod2 so I thought it best not to rush. Although I will look again at the end of next week and see if they have any cancellations IF I feel im ready.

My local centre seems to have a lot of short notice cancellations??? There was a slot for today, 4 for tomorrow and 2 Friday? Very strange.

Not that strange I guess, lots of Mod 1 failures, I guess a lot of people are rushing into it desperately trying to beat the impending January doom. I'm counting on there being a cancellation cos Oct 3rd seems like an age away!
