Hi when i finally get rid of my moped I was thinking of getting a 400, I really like the look of the Honda VFR400. I haven't ever seen one of these bikes running, just wanted to know what these bikes sound like and what they are like to ride?

Sheer madness Very Happy personally i wouldn't go for one myself (especially not as a first bike - bike) not only that insurance will be harsh...

No offence but chances are you'd be better with something a little less nutty...

What sort of price are you looking at?

Thing with bikes is until you look closely its difficult to tell what there are going to be like to ride, even then its no sure answer..

What sort of roads do you ride most of the time? will you be going more than 50 miles at a time ever? will you be takeing a passenger ever?

I'd be looking at... cb 400, bandit 400, zzr 400 easy to live with, wont kill your bank account...

Well they have gear driven cams, and a V4 angine. The gear driven cams give it a whining soung (very cool!!!) and the V4 has a nice lowish sound. Helps if you have a race can of course though.

I ride a Cbr400, and its my first bike. Im sencible though (sometimes Wink )

I jumped on it straight after my 125 test, and although it is very fast compares to those pieces of cak, i took it easy, untill i built up my confidence. Now i love it!!!

I will soon be in the same situation. I can't decide wether to get vfr400 or a 2 stroke 250cc (rgv,kr1,etc). As i'm still only 17 i think i will go for a 250cc 2 stroke as the insurance is half on one than it is for a vfr and the strokers are meant to be a tad faster and much lighter so good for twisties.

Have a look for a 400 at least, even that might not like restriction, its difficult to say, apparently cbr600 (laura on here has one and is happy with it) is fine being restricted, i suppose it depends on the power caracteristics, some bikes might not get anywhere near their potential power and hence be a complete dog...

zzr250s are quite rare, they do appear every so often though...
