tonsil stone?

Had what looked like a little white worm behind the thingy at the back of my mouth. Googled it and apparently it's a tonsil stone. Is it some tinerwebs bull or is that the name for them?
It was pissing me off tickling my tongue so I had it pulled out with some tweezers....
