New here. Speedfight 2 help

Hello, I'm new here. Anyway, my brother has just got a speedfight 2 50cc, the battery was flat and had no carb gasket to I got a gasket and told him I will sort the battery when I'm back from work. Well I get a phone call saying he tried jump starting it with my zxr 400 and now only the main light works, no speedo no tail light or horn and he said his magneto started to smoke a bit. I got back and check the fuse and that's fine, still has a spark as you can kick it over but only abit as kickstat fu*ked. I'm totally at a loss as what it could be. Sorry I couldnt put paragraphs in as I'm on my phone and don't no how to lol. Cheers

I've just done one of these. Get the kickstart cover off it and remove all the crud from inside the cover, especially around the kickstart area, then get some WD-40 all over kickstart internals and check its operation.

Not too sure why the rest of it's cooked, you'll probably have to remove the plastics and go through the loom looking for crispy bits/breaks/grotty contacts.

Everything worked on it. Now nothing dose unless you connect the battery to my bike and then only the horn and main light works.

Do you still get a spark?
Bearing in mind that I'm not too happy dealing with electrics, it does sound like a CDI fault.
If you can repost this in the workshop section you may find someone who can give you a better idea.

On Peugeot scooters the horn, indicators and brake light all run from the battery. The headlight and tail light all run from the stator (magneto). If the engine runs then the CDI is fine, what do you mean by the main lights?

Yeah we still have a spark, you can kick the bike over but the kickstat is fucked. And by main light I ment the headlight, but the main beam don't work. Is there a way to check the Cdi? Or do you just have to get another one?

Wel it dose spark but we don't no if it will run. Just dont understand how all the eletrics work then when he jumped it with my bike nothing works. The fuse is fine and tried a new one.
