Hi, I am new to biking and am going to get rid of my car and get a bike and would really appreciate your opinion 
could you please give me your opinion on which of these are better?

or

or I can get the Specialized sirrus elite 2011 second hand for £150 is that better?
the second is more expensive but the first one has hydraulic brakes, does that make a big difference or are other the other components more important overall? PLEASE help meThanks

Yeah, get the spesh. Second hand is the way to go. I got a year old Cannondale CAAD9 with Tiagra for £400 off of eBay a while back. £1500 new!
But yeah, google 'bike radar'. That's the forum you're after
