Removing side panel YBR 125

Hey guys. Hoping someone may be able to help me. I recently had my bike stolen and they ripped out the ignition electrics!
To cut a long story short I had to get new bits for it. The mechanic put on a new lock kit and I still had my old key to remove my side panel. Well, i've lost the key and am wondering if there's any way to open this panel as I normally need to use the ignition key and the new one obviosuly doenst fit. Cheers guys

i googled it and searched about to try and see what the crack is with the lock . i first thought it may of been a cable type that holds the seat down . however its not is it . shame that would of been easy .

if you have no chance of finding your key for it now and really need to get it off . all you need is a thin flat headed screwdriver . it will botch the keyhole but you will be able to get it off and lock it again . only trouble is so will everyone else and it looks sloppy

It's just a crappy lock thing inside the side panel, you can probably get it out if you don't mind breaking the old lock

When I bought my new ignition it came with the fuel cap and the little lock bit that fits into the side panel, so they should be changeable

Bend it off with some pliers or something, try not to break where it goes into though

Only covers the battery n shit, if people wanted to break it off they'd jsut tear the whole side panel off, not hard

Thanks for the help. It is only for getting to the battery really, il use a screwdriver, the bike is a bit of a heap anyway lol
