Hi,

Im new to this site and think this is the right section to post in lol. My name is Josh and i live in Cornwall. Bikes are not a new thing for me as i have ridden a few things before. I have just renewed my cbt to get a bike to travel to Plymouth most days, jacking in my car as costs of insurance, fuel, parking and the toll bridge just adds up, so luckily having a bike eliminates a couple of those Very Happy
My latest bike is an Aprilia rs125 on a 2004 plate. No mods but i think it may be derestricted. Only thing i hate is the noise, it looks like a big sports bike but it being a 2 stroke, when it starts up it doesn't sounds like one Laughing But for a 125 it goes like stink n rides great, ill deffo give it that.

So thats me for now, thanks for reading

Welcome Thumbs Up

Quick word of advice if your traveling a lot and you actually rely on your bike i would consider buying a 4 stroke.

Being a 2 Stroke and also being a RS125 it has not got a lot of reliability to it Very Happy

Thanks for commenting. Yeah i have heard n read a few pros and cons about those bikes, so i understand where your coming from.

Im hoping as i turn 21 in december and have found someone that is willing to do my direct access before the new law comes in on the 19th of Jan 'i think' where you will then have to be 24 to do the direct access.

Thing is i have 1 shot so if i fail anything ill go into the zone where the new law comes in but i haven't been given enough information about what will happen if that happens.

If i practice while on the road some days while i have the 125 im sure i will be ok Laughing

Don't get me wrong the RS125 is a cracking 125 to learn on and have some fun on but it's no bike for Traveling due to it being a 2 stroke.

Yeah that's a great idea, i am sure Tef or someone will be along soon to fill you in Thumbs Up

Good Luck bud

Why not just do your A2? More scope for passing before the changes, and even if you're on an A2, better that than whatever bullshit they're coming up with now.

There's also a fair few of us from Plymouth on here too.

Same test, but on a 125, let's you ride 33bhp for 2 years, then anything Thumbs Up

Ok, yeah i have heard of that one just didn't know that was the name for it. Thanks.

Isn't that changing in Jan too?? I heard you will only be able to have a 125 for 2 years at no more than 33bhp. Could have been told wrong, i guess more people on here will no about that than my unreliable sources Laughing

I'm not 100% but I think you'll be restricted forever if you do A2 next year unless you do DAS or accelerated access to bring your entitlement up Rolling Eyes Thumbs Down

Well that would be crap. I think i might aim to do my DAS at the beginning of jan. Atleast its done then. I wont have to do anymore tests for bikes Very Happy

Providing you take the A2 before the change then you'll still be able to ride anything after 2yrs.
