I've seen people babbling on about lessons for the mod 1 test

Are these really needed? I've watched plenty of videos and quietly confident I could do it, just waiting for me to pass my theory (hopefully) before booking it.

I understand I could ring up my local bike school and ask, but it doesn't really mention the lessons on their website, how much would these cost for mod1?

i was confident i could do it and have failed twice Very Happy

so long as your good with nerves then i guess you should be okay, also 15 quid a go and failing a couple of times would be cheaper and more worth it than paying for lessons

In fact yes! Blatantly obvious not to bother with lessons considering the price, derp.

There's nothing at all hard in it. Observations every time you move the bike, hard on the throttle for the speed tests, job done.

A three hour lesson is 90 quid on my own 125... .. mod 1 test is 15.50 (or 22 quid if i book it through the school.)

at those prices, i think if i fail once (hopefully i wont) then its still experience, and then know what its like for next time...

im considering a 3 hr lesson for the mod 2 though, but only because its 70 quid a pop...

Watch You Tube > Man Up > Pass

Its not a hard test itself, seems nerves get people rather than maneuver difficulty. Practice Practice Praise with some cones for a few evenings and your golden.

Good Luck Thumbs Up

Just be aware that test slots are getting booked up fast, the plus side of going through a school is they block book test slots so usually the student isn't waiting long at all for a test date. If you're happy to wait then no bother, I had lessons and learnt a hell of a a lot. I don't regret it despite the cost, but again it's your call.

Best of luck either way. Thumbs Up

i put in for my mod 1 recently without any training, been riding 125's for a few years. watched 2 video's on youtube about it, which were very helpful. observations are a must and are explained in the video. i passed it first time with 1 minor for not looking around properly before manual handling the bike.

good luck Thumbs Up

well my mod1 is on wednesday. im keeping my fingers toes n everything else possible, but the way i see it
* if i pass fantastic. if i fail, ahh bollocks, £15.50 more for a second attempt but no major biggie.

ive had no formal training, other than CBT this second time [cant count the first one, it was crap]. Shame i doe live near Wolvo, otherwise i would seriously consider a couple of lessons with BCMC training.

test slots dont seem too booked by me, i booked mine on tuesday, could of had my test pretty much any day, (even the next day -wednesday~) but wednesday coming is the only one where i could get a slot before midday (i work from 2 n i wanted to leave at least an hr n half to get from birm to work on the 125 considering it takes about 45 mins in the car down the motorway Very Happy)

although, my mod2 looks a little booked up (didnt wanna book 2 at once, incase i do fail, dont wanna loose 70 quid Wink
