Well having got my life back from my sponging ex gf. I fancy doing a trip somewhere in Europe next year around June time. I will be doing a long trip in the uk first for long distance practice.

Looking for somewhere which will be warm in june and a base for nice roads and maybe by the sea.

I have rode on the other side of the road due to hiring bikes in Greece on holiday.

Any suggestions on destinations?

South of France is an easy ride with some great roads, beaches and decent women.

A bit further a field you could try Italy, lake como, and see a bit in Slovenia, Piran etc..

If you want to be a little more adventurous try Mamia in Romania, or a trip to Bulgaria. Roads aren't the best mind.

Head south or south west. After the first 400 miles the weather will be hotter, drier. Keep going till you hit water.

Spain is good, Portugal better in my opinion or Lake Garda in Italy, like a small sea with hot dry weather but likely to be more costly to stay than a random town on French/Spanish coast.

What are you looking for? Camping cheap hotel's? Or do what I do. Book a cheap hoiday complex off of the net. Tell them you don't want the flight. Ride down. You have a good base to work from. Clean bed. swimming pool, and usuall a few sherbert stall near by.

Ride round for a two weeks then ride back. Usuall look at a week to get there and a week to get back. So all in all I'm away for about a month.

Spain is by far your best bet. Easy to get to. Holiday complexs are as cheap as chips. To day I found a place two week stay in a holiday complex with every thing. £175 each. Works out £12.50 a night. I can't see how you can beat them kind of prices.

If you are intrested in something like that let me know.

It doesn't make any difference that it's your first time. Riding is riding. If you're in the EU you won't have any issues, and few out of it.

I did 5,500 miles to the black sea 3 months after passed without any hassle. By the time i got back i'd actually done more miles on the right-hand side of the road than the left.

You'll be fine whatever you decided to do, just enjoy it Very Happy

London, Paris, Madrid sounds like a perfect plan for your trip. Florence is wonderful for art and architecture lovers, but I just can't see how you can pull it of without being in a rush. I truly think if you're going with your partner, not alone, that the time spent together in a relaxed, unhurried manner will be more valuable for both of you than another city, museum or building.

I would say you could pretty much go anywhere, dependant on your time off and your budget,

camping can be a pain carrying all the gear, but if you are on a budget it is a good way to do it, and France for instance if full of good cheap campsites.

There are many B&B's scattered throughout europe, and these days it is pretty safe, traveling 1st time or not, most places will have access to bike shops it you have a problem and your cards will work in most EU countries.

If you are just looking for an easy ride somewhere with some great places to visit using great biking roads then there are loads of them too. If you are planning on riding to one place and basing yourself for a week then always best to hit a spot which caters for bikers, as this will also attract like minded people so will give you comany in the evenings with a common outlook to talk about over a cold beer. Plus it can get boring riding on your own so you might be able to tie up with someone else doing the same thing whilst you are there.

It is worth noting that europeans love bikers so you will always find them welcoming and helpful.

I have a few rides I have completed in the past which may be of interest or at least give you some ideas what is acheivable at https://www.whereistonynow.co.uk where ever you go you are sure to have a good ride.
