Chicksands is my usual riding place Smile Although I haven't been in well over a year now because my bike was out of action, I dont have a car and i'm at uni which is a bit further than home from chicky.

You riding with Tom Dowie?? Cause I know he does coaching there.

I've got this for riding fast on the road (although my back can't handle the drop handlebars anymore, so I think I'll be swapping them for flats), had it for 4ish years now, never had any issues apart from buckling the rear wheel and replacing it with a cheapo one 3 days into ownership.

And I just bought this today, for slower road riding, trail riding and blasting round the quarry. It's not the best one out there, but I'm happy with it and I know it'll do me well. I'm a novice and couldn't warrant spending silly money. This'll do nicely Very Happy

Use to go up chicksands too, then they started charging for it, haven't been in years! Just commute on the cannon now.

My Peugeot Vitesse died as the chain stay snapped! I've stripped the parts & may pick up a new frame.

It was replaced by this...
https://i755.photobucket.com/albums/xx191/Non-Adhesive/Cycling/CarrerBucky.jpg
It's a good bike for the money, but I do miss the pug! It's had a couple of bits fitted since this pic, spds etc. Very Happy

For anyone buying a bike from Halfrauds, their 22 point check is more than useless!
First time out on it, a couple of gear changes in and a big clunk...
Halfords hadn't tightened the front derailer on enough, it swung round and got mangled by the crank!
I bent it back & took it to a proper bike shop to sort out my gearing. Didn't trust Halfords enough to go back for the free 6 week service.

I suspect if I'd had a coke rather than a bike habit, I'd not only have spent less, but quite possibly damaged my body less too! Smile

My new purchase... Merlin Maven - Such a neat, well made little entry-level road bike for £469. Looks like my MTB is going to be consigned to the dirt now.

Specialized Hardrock which I use about once a year.

My racer again after a few more upgrades!

I stupidly decided to take it offroading Laughing It was interesting!
I totally forgot how useless rim brakes become in mud.

I was genuinely surprised at how smoothly it shifts into that MAHOOSIVE low gear Laughing

I just have to get used to it, it is only good for steep hills (and mud!)
