Fish tank price

Hi guys,

Long story short;

Ive got a 4ft tropical fish tank fully kitted out and running at my ex girlfriends flat. She was keeping it untill i move in to my own place (couple months away from that still).

One of her friends have asked how much i would sell it for. I have no idea how much to ask?

Its got a nice beech effect cabinet with 2 big cupboards and shelfs and is all in good order. Expensive fiter etc and about 30 or 40 smallish fish (tetras etc).

I owe her about £300 i think so i wouldnt actually see any of the cash so im not too bothered about selling it.

How much would be a reasonable price be on both parts?

If its all up and running, stocked with healthy fish then 200/250 aint a bad price.

I said make me an offer to see what he had in mind and came back with £150.

I said £250 would take it and then him and the ex started getting a bit arsey about it (was expecting to barter a little tbh).

Have tried explaining that im not interested in selling it, so i wouldnt sell it for less than would make it worth my while but not getting through to them.

Doesnt bother me, it will look nice in my new place

Good stuff.

The fish, tank, decorations, equipment aren't the only cost.

The many hours spent lavishing attention are priceless.

For £150 they can get their own tank and start from scratch.

What type of filter? What lighting? All depends on equipment and age.
