Hi,

I have Aprilia RS125. The neutral light seems to flicker sometimes and sounds like it effects the bike when its running and not revving out properly.

Is this a common electrical fault on one of these?

Thanks, Josh

Sounds like you have a short somewhere.......or a poor earth. Does the bike play up when not in neutral?

Yes, ive pm kickstart about it and he's helped me so far, but haven't put much on the forum so thought i should Smile

From cold, put the choke on and it starts, idles nicely while warming up. But when its warm it will tick over on idle ok, but if you twist the throttle from idle it wont pick up the revs, goes the opposite way and dies, like its not drawing in enough fuel from 1000 - 2000 maybe 2500 but after that revs ok.

But if it does rev ok, then sometimes the neutral light flickers n stop the revs from building, makes the revs flicker like the light i suppose.

This bikes confusing the hell out of me Confused

Thanks

If you havn't already, have a good close look at all the wiring, looking for cracked sheathing, corroded connecters etc and paying special attention where the wiring is routed close to the frame or engine - around the headstock for eg. If possible, move the wiring while the engine is running to see if it has any effect.
Stick with it, you'll get there. Keith knows his Rs's so should be able to help.

Yeah, that was my next job Very Happy so i will definitely crack on with that. Its frustrating bought the bike a week ago and haven't had a proper ride on it yet. Its sunny in Cornwall today, lovely weather for a ride, hoping to have it running this afternoon if i'm lucky.

Yeah i've noticed hes good with them while browsing the site. Hes been very helpful to me too Smile

Well ill crack on with those wires.

If anyone has any other ideas or info it would be appreciated, trying to get to know my bike more and their faults.

Thanks
