50cc peugeot vivacity 2001 help

Hi,

Im having alot of trouble with my vivacity, when it starts the revs start to die and slowly it cuts out unless you keep twisting the throttle.

Ive changes the carb and really cant work out whats going wrong.
If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated

Once the engine has warmed up is it ok?

No, it still cuts out. once it started running i gave it a ride about, after that it started fine but still cut out.

Ignore mates that claim "change dat carb bruv. will fix all problemz."

Honestly though, everyone swaps carbs on peds and its more hassle than its worth as theres usually nothing wrong with them & the replacement wont be setup for that specific engine. Probbably autochoke failiure due to an iffy connector/broken wire (assuming that it still wont idle after a long ride & it being nice and warm) or the idles set too low.

If it was my bike i'd wind the idle up to about 1500-2000 revs & see if that resolved the issue. However the only ped i've ever ridden did do exactly what you claim to be a fault untill it was propperly warmed up. I.e 15-20mins on the road before it'd idle. And even then it'd still cut out after about 30secs without blipping it.

Hahaha yeah ive been through that!
ill give that a try in the morning, how did you resolve your problem ? or did you just crack on and ride it with the problem ?
