Hello all!

Just been and adjusted the chain on my bike and noticed that whoever had adjusted it before hadn't got it lined up...in fact it was nowhere near level! Would this likely to have had an adverse effect on anything else?
Looking closely at my tyre it looks like it’s worn oddly. Could this be because of badly adjusted chain? It’s getting changed with in the next week anyway because squared off badly anyway.

Cheers
Graham

As long as its wasnt massively off it shouldn't really effect anything except the handling, although it may be responsible for the weird tyre wear. If its wildly off, it could cause excessive chain and sprocket wear, and possibly other things.

It was out by a failry big margin! Was quite shocked. The handling has felt a little funny since I've owned the bike, but with being a new rider and this is my first bike I thought it was just me gripping the bars to tight or something daft. Not been out on it since I've adjusted it, stupid work got in the way!
I have no idea how long its been adjusted in this way, but luckly I think it won't be long until I need to change the chain and sockets anyway.

Would definately affect handling, tyre wear and chain and sprocket wear. Its the wheel alignment thats been out.
