It is a 2 stroke... Oil is burned/expelled into the exhaust as part of the combustion process.

From your first picture it looks like there is a leak between the exhaust and the cylinder, and it is running down the outside of the pipe..

The third pic looks like a leak between the pipe and the expansion chamber.

Not serious at all, I wouldn't worry too much.

You may need a new gasket ring between the exhaust and the barrel, and the silencer needs to be removed from the pipe and resealed.

Something like firegum would probably do the trick.

On my RXS100 it would always leak old oil from the exhaust/barrel join, and after a few attempts at fixing it I just left it.

thanks for the help. i suppose im more worried about the oil leaking from the engine side. i'm new to working on bikes, so wouldn't really know how to go about this. is there anywhere that could show me how to do it?

I would try your local bike shop at first.

It should only be a case of undoing a couple of bolts, re-sealing then bolting back together.

On the engine side you will need a new exhaust gasket, on the silencer some Firegum or even gasket cement should sort it.

You will have to clean the parts up before you put it back together as well.

how would i change exhaust gasket, its in quite a difficult place to get to?
so i would remove it, clean it all up with a rag, buy a new gasket, and bolt it back on?
and for the exhaust, take off the can, clean it up with a rag, buy some firegum, put some on then bolt the exhaust back on?
sorry for all the questions!

To do the exhaust gasket you will need to remove the things that are in the way, like the lower part of the fairing.

You would remove it, clean up the exhaust and the barrel when it fits then bolt it together.

It is probably best if you find someone to give you a hand if you are unsure.

It is also a good idea to buy the gasket before you take it apart, they are not very expensive.

yeah all fairings are already off. would a socket set do the job of taking it off?

and i would love for someone to help me, but no one i know has a bike, and i only know a couple of people who have vague knowledge on car mechanics. my only other option would be to pay a garage some extortionate price

Why is the bike running on premix?

the bike was raced for a season about 2 years ago (i think) and then used as a spare track bike, so i guess they just kept it on premix. i will be putting the oil pump back on at some point
