arrived home in very heavy rain and when i stoped bike and put on side stand loads of what looked like water ran off bottum of radiator. now im hoping it was just water captured somewhere on the bike but i would like to check my coolant levels for peice of mind as i have aftermarket speedo with no temp guage , problem is my coolant bottle is not the usual clear see through type its a canister type bottle in silver with a niple on top and bottum with pipes connnecting the rad is off a zx9r any advice on how i could check my coolant level to make sure it was just water captured in bike would be most appreciated thankyou Smile

also done loads of searchs but they all just say to check the full and low on the standard bottle which i dont have Sad

I know with my ZZR - it's a ZX600-E so it may have similarities- I can open the radiator cap and see the coolant from there. At least if some liquid falls out at you open the cap, you know the radiator is at least full.

Hope this helps a small amount.

Well my reservoir was at the minimum marker and I opened up my radiator cap and some tipped out because it's full to the brim of the radiator. A little came out but once you get the bike running, more should be pulled in anyway.
