If you don't want a hairdryer sound get a 2 stroke.
They sound like a bee in a tin can instead. ____________________ Four strokes is two strokes too many. |

They don't sound like hairdryers
Bigger bikes sound more like hairdryers for some reason, they have a weird electric sound to them, some of them
Scooters sound just horrible
NIGNGIGNIGNGINGINGIGNGINGIGNNERRRRRNIGNGINGIGNGIGNGIN NERRRRRR NIGNGINGIGNIGNGIN
Get a CG, they sound like bikes, but are comparitively loud for a 125 IMO
my mates is an alarm clock to me now
Just reread original post, you already have a scooter and are saying you don't want a hair dryer sound or a loud bike

That particular YBR may have had Speed Holes drilled in the exhaust...
YBR is ideal, or CG or CBF - although the fuel pumps do seem to be an ongoing issue.
You may find some quieter cruisers - the Jinluns or whatever Lexmoto are selling them as now are surprisingly refined. But as a practice and test bike, you can do a lot better. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Yes I have a scooter and I dont like that ngngngngn thing but its just a scooter so I dont really mind,
The trouble with the YBRs, CGs they look like they are trying to be something they are not,so I might feel a bit of a pleb on one
No offence to anyone its just my tastes ____________________ Dylan 125. CBT 04/12 |

I have a CBF - No complaints! Never had this fuel pump issue everyone is on about, it does 250 miles to the tank easy - its comfortable and does 70 nicely (I've had 82 out of mine!)

ARG?
Your Dylan's a Honda? Have you taken it to a Honda Dealer for trade in value?
Check out the CBF125, I think you will probably find it to your taste.
Usual sort of honda attension to detail and finish. Its reasonably well apointed, and for what it is, well priced.
They do have a couple of known niggles, in the fuel injection; fuel pumps burn out prematurely, and there have been a few reports of people having hassle over throttle position sensors when they get dirty and the dealers not clearing the fault code in the ECU, and spending ages chasing thier tails replacing component after component for a bit of dirt on a carbon track potentiometer... but I think these are now fairly well known, & new, bike would be under warranty; though I'd advice you looking second hand; but again, from a dealer, ought to talk them into giving yo a warranty if its not covered, and three months? All you really want the bike for isn't it?
Other wise, its one to put on your list..... THOUGH..... for what you want/need/intend..... does it really matter THAT much?
Forever telling eager-teens that its a bike... its only to get your licence with and 2mph difference in top speed or a bit of fancier plastic doesn't make it any 'cooler'; looking with an L-Plate stuck on the back.....
YBR is the benchg-mark.... CBF is a worthy alternative... but depends whats out there, on offer, priced within your budget, and what condition its in.
Pretty much anything with, wheels, engine (with gearbox) and a tax disc is 'good-enough' isn't it? ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
