Evening

GS has some play in front end so got cracking with removing stuff and as I'm still hung-over/suffering from man flu/lazy I've called it a night.

Last thing to do was remove top yoke, underneath there are two nuts with a split pin, easily removed pins but seems slackening the nut just turns the whole bolt around, wanted to ask are these things I've circled in red just covers of some sort before I go scratching the crap out of it with a flathead.

Haynes Manual / workshop manual should tell you everything you need to know...

The photo isn't great but I'm guessing that the things in red are allen head bolt caps, they will pop out if you get a knife or sharp screwdriver in the gap between them and the bolt.

The top of the yoke is just a cover.

Pick would be best if you had one, small flat head screw driver will work like the little ones out of Christmas crackers ...

Nice one Marki! Thumbs Up

Probably would have figured it out eventually but just checking they weren't the same as the bolts holding the clocks to the yoke which aren't covers.

also Karma for the recommendations guys, tried the workshop guides 1st, thought I'd hit gold with the Haynes download but links were dead/preview only, also service manual doesn't seem to cover steering stem.
