Hi everyone,

My partner has a new CPI that we brought last week and as he works away from home its been in the back garden this last week with a cover over it.

He came back on Saturday and found that the mirrors had rotated in on themselves (thanks to the wind dragging the cover off without anyone noticing) and we spent over an hour trying to correct this. The one mirror stabalised after he took the one knut off but the other refuses to fix where he needs it.

Any ideas as to how we can fix it as obviously he cant ride it down to the shop we got it from because there no mirrors on it? He was also thinking of eventually changing the mirrors later on for ones closer to the handlebars like a Ninja has. Any suggestions as to which ones would fit the bike best.

Im being his skivvi at the moment as he's away from home for the next 2 weeks so ive got the job of finding out but i know nothing about bikes lol Please help, thanks.

You don't need Mirrors their not part of MOT or LAW it's just best & safer to have them.

Maybe glue them in the correct place, or even get some new mirrors than go on the end of your bar's ?

Good point i didnt think of that. Thanks.

Im not sure if another set of mirrors would fit because it looks like they were cross-threaded when the bike was put together at the shop. When we tried to do it the bottom bit that the mirror arm screwes into was fine but once the arm went just past the tightest piont (where it was needed to be) it gave way and the mirror ended up the wrong way and both the arm and the bottom bit came undone.

Also were is the cheepest place to get a CPI owners book from? I dont have a printer so cant get it from the web.

Simple,

eBay would be your best bet failing that go to a dealer they will be able to get hold of one.

What you need is a " tap " , a tap is a small device which allows you to create a thread / save a thread, if you put one of these the correct thread size into your mirror hole's you should be able to save it Thumbs Up

If not - you can get " Helicoil " kit's which put a device in to the mirror hole. you can get these of eBay....

The Universal mirrors basically come with a clamp you clamp onto the ends of your bar's example :

Good Luck
