CBR600RR.

If you are cruising with minimal throttle between about 48mph and 58mph you get a feeling of wobbling through the bars,

If I take my hands off at 60, you notice a slow wobble around 53-58mph and as it gets slower, it gets a little worse. Never causes any real wobbles that would chuck you off, just a gentle to medium wobble. It stops around 48mph and continues to go straight.

Same above 60mph, smooth as anything.

What should I look for. I'm going to loosen the front wheel, make sure its not kinked in there at all, was thinking weights... worst case, head bearings?

Tyre needs balancing.
Or there is a massive bleb or other injury on the sidewall.

Go back to basics first, check your tyres & pressures,
You may have a slighted distorted tyre ...

Yeah I would go with head bearings,

Get on the bike pull front brake & push and pull on your front forks in and up and down action, if you feel play its not good and will need replacing, step 2 lift front wheel, turn bars lock to lock feeling for notches...

Tyres either need balancing, pressures checked or you might want to swap the front tyre for a new one. I have the same problem with my sm at the moment and have a replacement tyre to go on Thumbs Up

New tyres aren't a guarantee of flawlessness Wink

I had a new Metzeler fitted to the front of one of my old bikes, wheel was correctly balanced and pressures were correct too. The thing handled like a rubber band driven by a weeble. A replacement tyre sorted it and there was nothing obviously wrong with the one fitted.

Tyres most normally need to be balanced. Wheels are balanced once at the factory by removing some material and probably stay balanced.

Tyres are made of organic compounds which are not of uniform density so that's why they are 'imperfect'.

The CB500 has a wobble at 35-40mph.

Google tells me it's pretty common and is basically unfixable. I just don't take my hands off the handlebars.

Hopefully yours is fixable but if it's not causing any issues I wouldn't worry too much.

You can feel through handlebars lightly whilst holding, and if I go round some corners within those speeds, you can feel a little instability.

Sounds about the same as mine. I have to keep both hands on the bars while cornering at 40.
I'll keep an eye on this thread to see how/if you've fixed it.

Gets much more pronounced if I load the back. I tend to try and ride above/below 40 while fully loaded to avoid it.

Have you tried riding side-saddle like a Lady?

I thought I'd update...

Front could do with a little pumping, 33psi cold. Says 36/42 so will inflate but the weird issue is that when I turn it feelts very wobbly regardless of speed Neutral

Maybe there is a lump in the tyre somewhere? Does it feel wobbly when cornering both ways or just one?

Paddy Pal,

Get the wheel off the ground ( if you can )

Spin the wheel past while putting your palm around the Tyre then feel for any distortions, then just have a good all around look around both Tyres just to make sure their damage free Very Happy
