Been looking at these myself today, got wetter than a spackers chin on the way home from work.
I have some waterproof(ish) overtrousers but didn't wear them on the way in to work, water proofs are only any good if you actually use them ! D'oh! ____________________ CBT √ Passed, Theory √ Passed, Mod 1 √ Passed, Mod 2 √ Passed

I've got a cheap JTS one, never leaked yet even after a 2 hour torrential downpour on the motorway! Not very elegant getting into/out of it and doesn't look very flattering, but does the job nicely ____________________ Ybr 125 > Bandit 650SA > GSXR 600 > Triumph Sprint St1050 > CB1300 > Z1000SX + FJ1200 (written off) > VFR750 >FJ1200 |

I have some "isotex" trousers and jacket that's been used regularly on the bike.
Originally bought from Go Outdoors, their HiGear, own brand
(....although tbh, I'd have preferred goretex ) ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

The primary advantage of goretex, in my experience, is that it is actually constructed properly with a membrane, rather than using taped seams that come apart with wear and tear.
I've never had non-goretex waterproof trousers that didn't start leaking in heavy rain around the crotch not long after purchase. The tape on the seams slowly but surely comes undone under stretch and stress. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

Rode home last night in the worst weather I have ever experienced on a bike
Wore my cheap buffalo textile jacket I keep as a backup - it's a size too big but means I can fit a couple of heavy layers underneath. Kept top half toasty and dry
Trousers on the other hand......cheap spada over trousers made me look like I'd pissed myself after a few miles. Seriously cold ball sack as a result!
Also found out my right boot is leaking a bit too
Wet weather is shite ____________________ 1995 Honda cg125 SOLD
