I wear a large black HONDA jacket (red embroidered HONDA on rear) it's a Regatta Professional jacket that is waterproof and windproof (exceeds BS3424 for waterproofness)... I picked this pro item up in a charity shop 2018 for £9.99. BARGAIN
Beneath this I wear a thinnner black XL jacket whose cuffs extend out further than my large jacket.
I wear leather gloves (which i have crafted into gauntlets with some HD wax thread)...and here's the fun part. The wrist part is made from ladies CALF LENGTH BOOTS! You just cut them off at the ankle and sew the parts to your leather gloves. These will extend the leather gloves over the wrists of both L and XL jacket cuffs.
I wear XXL Peter Storm waterproof trousers... which i split the ass on but have sewn them back up. I'm a fit 6'4"/17 stone guy.
I also wear black Uni-sex Half-Chaps (meant for Horse Riding) which keep my ankles snug and warm and cover the lower join where my waterproof trousers and my footwear meet.
Add a white open-faced MOD helmet and that's the look.
HELMET NOTE:I bought both a full-face and pilot visor for facing the RAIN and... found... myself re-attaching the brim of my helmet back onto the pilots visor. The brim and visor will lift together. No steaming up on cold starts. Brim acts as both a sun visor and a rain shield. They should make them like this.
I wear SPECTACLES too and find that by NOT being totally aerodynamic... the circulating air creates a lovely self demisting environment which I prefer OVER the steamed up full face helmets on icy mornings when I can see my breath... and I SEE the inside of car windows all being wet and foggy. I can see PERFECT.
I hope I helped someone out there. Ride safely ____________________ I hope this helps

Sorry dude.
I actually ended up here from a Google search on my own journey to find a SPRAY to waterproof my bike... but then found you all wanted to just waterproof a jacket...
So I thought.. may as well tell you how to get waterproof on-the-cheap.
I am after a spray... the one they use to waterproof ocean liner port-holes... so that I don't even need to wipe my mirrors
Like yourself i didn't think it was worthy of a NEW thread so I just slipped my answer in here. Your comment gave this more weight than it should have really had.
I also comment on other sites to correctly identify 16th Century Japanese Swords (which are way older than 4 years) but I can't please all the experts. What was your answer again to the Waterproof Spray? ____________________ I hope this helps |
