Anyone wear one whilst riding? The one piece i wear doesnt have any pockets and i thought a bum bag would be ideal. If so, anyone recommend a good one?

fanny packs! (if your from an american possition)

honestly, i would have thought any semi decent one would be good as long as the stitching was strong enough and the clips where solid.

go into a shop that sells them and start yanking on the seams and clips.

if it falls apart and they make you buy it just say "no chance, not fit for purpose under selling regulations". if it holds up, buy it.

either way, if your wearing one and you come off your bike, it will no survive. i'd probably put more stock in a tupperware tub benjee roped to the tank anyway

Sometimes wear a sort of money belt type thing.
Big enough to hold folding, fags and a lighter!

I went off to collect a 1 piece leather I bought 2nd hand. trying it on, I asked about pockets and the bloke's dad went off and came back with a fine bumbag - gave it to me gratis. Nice or what? Smile

I'll ensure I don't wear it within a few weeks of the local Gape Ride event though!

Well to be fair, most people wouldn't question his fashion to his face.

Kriga R8

My mate has one ......i want one

you can fit a lot in it its very handy and dont encumber you the way a back pack does + as a bonus it looks a lot better than most other ones and is fully water proof

Edit just realised the R8 might be over kill unless you do a lot of long distances

The R3 is a smaller one but is fully waterproof very secure ect

You have too handle kriga stuff to understand its price ....its by far the best made luggage / bag stuff i have ever used (tried knox oxford hein gerke ect) and im thinking of investing in an R35 back pack soon

i use one in euroland. It has a roll top waterproof main pocket where i keep wallet and passport and a smaller zip pocket that i can put in credit card and toll tickets.

There is another pouch with a net for holding a drink like bottle of water or coke.

i normally bung stuff under the seat.. wallet/keys/mobile and a smallish chain.. seems to suit the purpose.. do you not have any underseat storage?

My CB could house my trainers, a lock/chain/mobile/keys/wallet and a can of pop!

I've used a visor holder/bum bag in the past when I had a black visor fitted to the lid. Just on the off chance that I got stopped by plod, I could just swap them over.
However, I never got stopped in the 3-4 years I used that particular lid, so I eventually sold the spare visor and bag when I bought a replacement lid.

depends what you want to carry while your out. I use a money belt inside my leathers which is enough to carry my phone, bank card, or few notes and my house key. Thats all you need right? Going on any longer journeys or out for a full day etc id prob just use a small back pack or rig up the tail pack to avoid looking like a gheyer with a bumbag.
Though I have considered one in the past....... but thought better of it

edit:money belt like this

One piece leathers come as standard with a bum-bag....
It appears, magically when you get off the bike and stand up straight.....

I had a Frank-Thomas 'Aqua-Pak' in the early 90's that rolled up into a bum-bag.... annoying bludy thing..... ended up living pushed under the grab-rail with the strap wrapped round about twenty times to stop it flapping too much.

Even I would not buy the Kriega bum bag, unless suited the bike setup and was on an epic expodition.

Op .. What bike, and what do you WANT to carry regular ?

Cheers for the recommendations guys.

Covdude - If I’m off to work or having a day out then I usually wear a backpack but sometimes me and a few mates will go out for a ride so I’ll only just bring the essentials (wallet, keys, fags and phone) and doesn't really warrant taking a backpack with me if i can fit it into something smaller. It’s a ZX6R Ninja

Well if i was you, id get the tank adaptor and the us5 and us10. I have this, the us 5 is ideal for rideouts and fits snug on rear or tank, and the us10 for work.

I always have us5 on the rear with paclite .. overgloves, small water sachet thing.

Will do some pics perhaps.

I have the r20 aswell, bit of a kriega fanboy, well more over a fan well made functional gear .

The klim scramble pak is similar to the R8
https://www.klim.com/en-us/shop/bags/4011-000
https://www.adventure-spec.com/default/klim-scramble-pack.html

A non motorcycle based luggage idea is to use a type of bumbag used by outdoor types such as Lifeventure
https://www.lifeventure.co.uk/htm/hip-packs/index.html
I have a hip pack 6
