Please, please, please say yes someone, anyone.
After chewing up my 3rd set of 2CT's in the last 12 months, I'm expecting a set of these to land on my doorstep tomorrow morning.

I've got a set of Supermaxx sport (I think sport) on the bandit. They seem...okay. Not very good, not horrible either.

Never tried the Diamond's, but one of there wanky Supermaxx cost me the best bike I've ever owned.

Would never use or recommend them to anyone.

Have to agree, they are fine in the dry but I get a very 'unconnected' feel from the front in the wet. Trouble is, they last for bloody ever!

I put one on the front of my Blade, and for no apparent reason after about 30-45 minutes out on the bike on a beautiful sunny July day, it just let go with no warning and totalled the bike.

I was extremely disappoint.

I use Supermaxx Sports on my R1 and I can honestly say I've not had a problem with them, good feedback, stable and round Snetterton last week I had no issues whatsoever, in fact the guy i was with was using the new Bridgestone R10 and they looked in a sorry state after 3 sessions.

I would not hesitate to use them again.

Maxxis were the worst modern tyre I had on a bike, no feedback, mediocre grip, lethal in the wet. Had 'em on for 2 days (from new) and changed them. Cheap for a reason i.e. they're crap.

looks like good for track/pleasure riding, shite for commuting and rain, I need some new tyres soon but might just stump up the extra for some Bridgestones or Pirellis

I did post a little review on these a while back... borrowed a bike with these that had 50 miles from new on.

They were alright, overall weren't too bad, from cold they warmed fairly quickly, but riding cold was a bit sketchy.

In the wet they were alright and when it got to a dry stertch you could give beans and it didn't slip, didn't feel much heading into corners though.

From the research I've done on tyres I've come the following as being the most common choices:

BT16s stickier compound for speed dual compound as far as I know.
BT23s for dual compound for compromise between speed and commuting

Michelin Pilot Road 2CT 1/2/3 for commuting
Michelin Pilot Power 2CT 1/2 for compromise between spirited riding and commuting
Michelin Power Pure 2CT enhanced version of the Pilot Power, stickier, lighter.

2CT = dual compound, you can also get the Pilot Road and Powers in a non-dual compound form, so beware as these would wear faster if you use the bike for commuting.

There's also the Pirelli SuperCorsas and Corsa III's which are popular and meant to be pretty good for spirited riding, but I don't know much about them. Other than a marketing statement which said the Supercorsas are equivalent to the compound used in professional track racing but made for the road.

Corsa III's are equivalent to the Michelin Pilot Power and a popular choice.

If I was buying I'd try to get a set of Pilot Power 2CTs or Bridgestone BT23s.

I read that the Diamonds are good in the wet but not as good as the competition in the dry (still OK though).

I cannot fault the 2CT's, but I just can't afford to keep replacing canvassed tyres every 3000 miles. I'm not expecting the SuperDiamonds to match the 2CT's but I'm hoping that they'll do for this year.
Unfortunately 250kg of beast is always going to chew wellies and I have to match durability with 'stickability' and a non existent budget.

Dunno about the Diamonds specifically, but I used a Maxxis Supermaxx rear tyre last year, and had no real problems...
Mainly commuting, with some motorway work, occasional "spirited" riding on the twistys, and some roundabout surfing to finish it off... Embarassed

Replaced with a Dunlop Qualifier, cos for me it was a more recognisable brand name, with similar spec, for the same price Thumbs Up

(for the record, I also replaced that ragged brake disk at the same time too.)

FYI I had the dunlop qualifiers when I bought the bike. They took ages to warm up even when I was ragging it and the bike felt unsafe on roundabouts. They only lasted me a year ~ 6000mi but I didn't run them anywhere near as low as the image above.

You shouldn't refer to the Michelins as 2CT, they have multiple ranges which carry this designation.

It's also daft to say 'the 2CT doesn't last' which because the Road 2CT for example has a harder compound which will stand up to the longer milage and equal or surpass other brands.

Sorry, that'll be the power 2CT - and yes I know it's a sports tyre and all the other arguments.
I would still put them on tomorrow if I could afford it, as they stick like fury even when bouncing on the sidewall. I'll just have to try and moderate my riding style. (Which on the plus side will see a much better MPG and probably fewer vehicles flashing their lights distastefully at me) Very Happy

Hmm a mixed bag of opinion here. Not much talk about the "Diamond" but that's possible a reflection of the current feeling in general towards them.
Maybe its better to spend a little more then thus saving money in the future..
