Are the MZ TS125 & 150 engines the basically the same bottom end and it's the barrel / head / carb that is different ?

I've just bought a Francis Barnett Falcon rolling frame that I intend making into a trail style for gentle green laning. I've got no engine and the original spec AMC T20 has a poor reputation so am considering more modern alternatives. A few years ago I had a TS 250 and was impressed so think the TS 150 would be an ideal choice for the conversion. If I can't find a 150 then a 125 might be more common hence the question. The later ETZ 125 / TS250 etc engines aren't suitable as they are "wobblers" ie mounted so they can bounce up and down whereas the TS125 / 150 are solid mounted like the AMC.

Thanks.

Paul H

Yes, they're the same bottom-end.

I've often wondered how much an advantage the 150cc has over the 125cc engine.

According to specs its 1,5 hp (din) and 0,25kpm in torque Cool
Never tried a 125 but the 150 is a good workhorse for many years if maintained correctly. Have 3 of them myself.

German repair manuals and spare parts lists can be found here : https://www.miraculis.de/aw/mz/mz.html

I have one in danish too if that is of any help.
