hi, i have a honda cbr 125 r 2005 repsol, when im riding my bike i just cant seem to get above 50 Mph. when im riding the revs just seem to take to long to get to 7k but heres the thing when its at 7k it will only go to like 7.5k revs and no higher. my top speed is 60 Mph in sun and with a bit of wind behind me, ive looked on youtube at videos of cbr's top speed and they can get their revs to like 10k well before i can get my bike to 7k Confused so is there anything i can do? and is there a problem..

Cheers Tom Smile

Thumbs Up

Try a new spark plug as the current one is possibly on it's way out and change the air filter as it maybe clogged up or past it's use! If no change get a bike mechanic, as it may need the carbs cleaned or the carbs needs to be rebalanced.

Simple question has it NEVER got above 60mph and 7.5k revs since you've bought it?

Top speed is 70mph on the flat with 10/10.5k revs

Right mate,

Change the spark plug,

Clean the air filter out, make sure theirs no air leaks and everything is done up correctly...

Go for a road test...

As above, check air filter and spark plug. Ignition coil could also be on the way out as they are a known problem on the CBR125.

If you are really stuck, i may be able to come take a look as i pretty much know those little things inside out having owned several over 7 years.
