Taxes - Being Auditted again :evil:

For the 5th year in a row I am being auditted and been asked to submit my supporting documents for my income tax return

Each time the assessment is the same as the original submitted, and the audit only serves to delay them paying me out by a few months

I always get a lot of money back (550-1200 pounds), so I assume the audit is to delay paying me out .

I use my bikes for work travel (15000-20000 km per year of buisiness travel) , so am entitled to claim back the running costs of bike and dpreciation relative to my work km, on top of the km allowance. We used to get travel allowances tax free so cover use of vehicles, but now we are taxed montly on travel allowances and must claim it back at tax time based on a log book. I can also deduct what I spend on medical aid from income for tax purposes. So they always owe me a lot of money.

Bastids are always quick to take your money and charge you interest if you owe them, but they dont pay you interest for holding your money for a year and then delaying for months paying you out.

Oh well, at least I get paid per km to ride, and a large sum of the cost of my bikes is written off against tax


I pay the bastids enough anyway.

Your right on teh fact that they are soon enought to take it off you, but 550-1200 aint a lot back you need to work the system more.

Is there ever any reason your "targeted" for an audit?
