Read this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-19714236 and it pissed me off.

Who calls the police for things like that?
I doubt she called 999 but even so. People calling 999 for non emergency situations pisses me off as well.

If you find a snake in your drawer, call the RSPCA or something. No wonder the police have no time, they are going round peoples houses finding their lost keys and babysitting kids.

The RSPCA are a charity not an emergency service, who's to say they could get out to you in any kind of decent time-scale. Frankly if I had a potentially dangerous animal in my house I would call the fuzz.

That Snake to me doesn't look 100% harmless.

A popolur corn snake kept by thousands, there also happens to be a VERY venomous snake that looks the same.

Call was justified imo.

Could have been worse, if the owner had knocked on her door and asked her if she could get his "milk snake" out.

I saw on a documentary the other week that a teenager called the police because her mum had turned the wifi off and wouldn't turn it back on.

Only thing remotely relevant on the RSPCA website.

Reporting animals in distress
You can use My RSPCA to report a mistreated, neglected, injured or distressed animal, or you can call our 24-hour cruelty line on 0300 1234 999.
We campaign for changes to the law and provide education and advice to pet owners. Some situations that may appear distressing are not against the law. In their daily work our inspectors have to prioritise cases where the law is actually being broken.

I doubt the snake was even in distress!

Poor snake Sad I can't believe it survived in Aberdeen, it must have been freezing it's stripey lil butt off.

Someone is a bit irresponsible not keeping it contained surely?

I'd probably go with rspca but truthfully if they couldn't come out i don't know who i'd ring next. With the possibility of being bitten i'd probably not be at my responsible best and would most likely stab wildly at the phone and just squeal till someone came out Laughing

If it was a giant spider i'd just burn my house down.

This just reminded me of the time my sister called childline because my mum punished her for something. The lady on the end of the phone said she deserved it. Laughing

Plod is fine for that, they'll get the right person there quicker than a MOP calling it on. Also, it'll give them a welcome break from handling emergencies like Shazza totally harassing Senga's human rights by texting that Shuggie had shagged her up the Tollbooth.

what he said.

If i was scared of snakes and saw one strolling about my house then id be really hard pushed not to call 101.

Or, just remember that milk snakes are red and black and coral snakes are red and yellow, which probably uses less mental capacity than that mnemonic.

The trouble with mnemonics like that is that they work both ways...

Red on yellow; you're ok, fellow.
Red on black; you're dead, Jack.

I've called the police 3 times this week.

On my second call I advised they actually find and get a unit to my house faster than I could get, load and aim a gun or they'd need to send an ambulance too.

Police car got to my house in about 60 seconds. I'd got and loaded the gun... damn it.

Caught three of the 6 shit heads that were throwing bricks at me as I was burying my dog it'd just had put down. the three that were caught were known to police, the one who threw the brick which cut my head open managed to escape but from the description and the capture of half his crew, the police know who it is. Rolling Eyes

Whilst giving a statement one of the officers was doing other paper work and i heard the voice over his radio quote my description on the 112 call of the attackers as ''chavvy pieces of shit'' Laughing .

I am so bored of where I live, I just know if i retaliate or defend myself/property/animals the 6 chavvy shit heads wil l have perfectly corrolating statements and of course qualify for legal aid so i'll be screwed. ARG UK LAW Evil or Very Mad
