Younger sister's birthday, well her 40th, but we can't say that as she is younger for her stage thing that she does. I'm not sure what age she gives but it isn't 40.

So what do I get a woman who is 40, has everything, we did think she was a lesbian until about six months ago when a bloke turns up on her face book, he is one of those stage people too.
She is loaded from her other job, Chemical engineer for the oil industry, so has all that she wants.

Any ideas?

Anyone one else I would nip into Anne Summers.............. but she is my sister and I'm not from Norfolk.

And I'm skint as it is my parents 50th Wedding thingy the day before.

My dad'd like it, gets right on my wick come birthday time

His saving grace is olde worlde nic-nacs. I got him an old miner's lamp last birthday cos he'd been admiring mine. It was a car-boot bargain that i cleaned up. He wants an old mast light for his lounge. . . .but it's nearly as expensive as buying a chuffing boat and wrecking's not what it was so he'll have to source one of them himself

How about a photo album you fill up with pics of when you were kids and a big kilner jar full of old-fashioned sweets (you can get a jar cheap and buy the sweets online).

My nan (same problem) had a load of buttons in a box that were her mums. She gave them to me so i made her a couple of cushions for her lounge and stitched all the buttons onto them (looked better than it sounds).

I got her a copy of The Times from the day she was born for her 80th. Not too pricey but a bit unusual.

I keep hoping that someone (even Anita) knows me well enough to just get me assorted coloured hair ribbons, but nobody ever does. Or pay attention to what perfume I am currently liking and then club together to buy a bottle (cos they really would need to club together - I wouldn't even mind only having one birthday present from "everybody" if it was a £120 bottle of perfume )
