My rear tyre says 140/70-17 M/C 66H
Front tyre 110/70 - 17 M/C 54H

What's that all mean?

width/percentage profile of width (length between edge of tyre to the rim-internal diameter of the wheel

in other words...
the first number is the with of the tyre in mm.
the second number is the profile/sidewall of the tyre measured in percent (e.g. 120/70 = 70% of 120mm)
the third number is the size of your wheel. 17" wheel, etc..

m/c obviously stands for motorcycle and i presume the other number/letters is an indication of either tyre make/model or compound.

And the dash means it's a crossply. That's important to know because if you have a crossply or bias belt on the rear, it would be illegal to fit a radial on the front. The other way round (radial rear, crossply front) is fine.

140/70 -17 is crossply.
140/70 R17 is radial.
140/70 B17 is bias belted.
