yeah it came into my head and just stuck. there's not really any people around called raymond anymore, that are under like 60 anyway, so its sort of a disused name.

i love them we had them on the farm years back. excel at anything given to them.

covdude, yeah they can be a handful fella. theyre not unmanageable, but can be a right headache if not worked in some way or other. but with a good run, and good training, they are just as amenable as any other breed.

angryjonny, you mean her ear? lol

yes and no, depends on the individual dog. the border went into the original patterdale as it was a border breeder called joe bowman back near their own origins who created them Smile his grand daughter still has a couple to this day

Awww nice doggies! I got 2 russels myself Smile Have them trained too come to me, walk too heel, do odd tricks, but when they are together I struggle to stop them running after rats & rabbits so they rarely get off the leads. Not too bad when they are on their own, I guess pack instinct or something kicks in when they are together.

My two Greys. The big one broke his leg a couple of months ago, turned out it was bone cancer so he had his left front leg amputated, he's getting on fine without it now.

Jack (on left) is a little bastard! He doesn't listen to me at all when out walking and just runs off like a lunatic galloping in random directions.

The bitch (on right) is a bit more placid most of the time. She doesn't like other dogs though, if they get in her face she will go for them so I have to keep her on a lead when other dogs are around. She can go loony though and start darting around like the other one depending on her mood.

Cracking dogs to have but they do need walking every day without fail or they start bouncing off the walls.

Kai - now aged 10, "acquired" him from a neighbour 6yrs ago whose hobby was spending all day in the pub and then kicking the dog around the house because it had the temerity to piss inside after 12hrs alone, offered to look after him one weekend when the drunk wanted to go away, and then refused to give him back, lots of shouting and threats but as with all bullies he soon fucked off when he realised I wasn't going to back down. Dog is still a bit "psychologically challenged" but as long as he is managed correctly and not placed into certain situations he is fine, recently had a stroke and is a bit lop sided now but still enjoying life Very Happy
