Morning all!
I have aquired an 02 plate speedfight2 100cc as a non runner, which I plan to use as a commuter.
I have the following issues and wonder if anyone can advise me further?

No spark
Turn the key, no dash warning lights including immobiliser light.
When turning over VIA electric start only the oil light comes on but goes put ad soon as you let it go.
Have no dash lights, no main lights only indicators and horn.
Have done the key reset thingy as a check but made no difference.

Any ideas guys? I'm thinking cdi/immobiliser but would value any feedback?

Cheers
Nick

keep it simple just replacing parts is not the way to fix a probloem.

Get a New Spark plug, try that, then if all that fails look at the HT / coil.

Good Luck

Matt

Please be quiet and let the adults help people.

I'll assume this is a speedfight with an immobiliser.

Fisrt thing is to find out why the dash lights aren't coming on as the immobiliser should be lit.
Once you have sorted the wiring so everything works if there is still no spark and the immobiliser light stay on you are looking at a new CDI and ignition and keying it all up. Start with the wiring first, its the cheapest option.

Cheers sickpup!

Yeah its the immobiliser model! It had an engine rebuild prior to me getting it, as well as the mechanical side it also had new ht lead and plug, starter motor and starter bendix(whatever that is? Lol) and I have the receipts for it. Have had all the bodywork off yesterday as a bit of a familiarisation day, plus to see if there was anything blatently obvious that weren't right.
Having read loads of reports about the cdi/immobiliser I kinda figured its possibly the problem. It's a single unit that works both, some of the dash and lights wiring is linked through it, so if its knackered, then maybe this is why so much isn't working?

Sounds like it is a later model to the ones I have worked on but yes the immobilisers are a nightmare on them, they constantly fail. I would expect the idiot lights to still work though.

Well, with the ignition on, the horn and indicators work, and the indicator light will flash on the dash. Oil light will come on when trying to start on the button, but that's it. So if the immobiliser is shot would the light come on? And as its the combined unit cdi/immobiliser, if part of its knackered then the rest ain't gonna work??

On the older ones there was a red flashing light to denote it was immobilised.

Well this is ten years old so quite possibly the same. Well its cost me nothing so spending a couple of hundred on new parts seems fair. Think ill go for new rectified starter relay and upgraded cdi with immobiliser bypass. If still no joy then at least I have lots of new parts for Longevity Smile
