not to be a total prick or anything, but if i was giving to charity it would be too somebody who was born with problems, not somebody that put them self in that situation.

Ok,

Firstly - I don't know the lad personally nor is he any kind of aquaintance.

Secondly - Perhaps he was doing something "stupid" to end up in this predicament - we'v all done "stupid" things to some degree , be they on a bike or in life generally & yes, we were all young once uopn a time.

Thirdly - I was approached at a local bike meet to help distribute these flyers to hopefully raise awareness of what can & has gone wrong when out biking.

Fourthly - I am not , never have been nor never will be the kind of person who turns ANYONE away when they have asked for my help with something , hence the original point of this thread.

And finally - I make no apologies for trying to spread not only the word re: this event, but for bringing this dangerous & yet serious subject to light.

I have already stated that I don't know the guy, but just to re-itterate my point - I was asked if I could help spread the word about a ride, now I'd have gladly helped in any way possible - it's a very local event for a new biker like myself to attend & meet fellow riders & who knows, perhaps make a few new buds at same time Thumbs Up that is my reason for the post.

Let me assure you that I am in no way whatsoever gaining anything from this event in monetary value etc: I just hope to achieve what I have stated in previous paragraph.

I can honestly say that I don't know what is considered as spam?
If this is then I wholeheartedly apologise to every entire member of this forum for unknowingly doing so.

I respect your point of view entirely, it does appear that he was dicking & paid the price for doing so.
I guess we could say it's very harsh on him, but by same token it could be looked at as 1 less dick on the road - there are enough dangers out there as it is!

And as a footnote, I do happen so have a severly disabled son, so I know how everyone's lives are when involved in that situation.

This has iimho ran on long enough now.

Suffice to say that if people wish to attend a ride out then that is their choice & I shall not be promoting the event any further.
