Pretty much as above.
I'm yet to find a situation where i actually NEED any more than half choke to get the bike to fire/idle though.
I'll flip the choke half on, fire it up, put my lid & gloves on, hop on it, ride off & flip the choke off as i'm going down the main road. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

You're leaving the choke "on" for too long.
All this warming your bike before riding it is overrated, all you need to do is ensure that the engine oil has reached all the correct places, you are then good to go.
You only need the choke to start the bike, once your moving, just turn the choke off!
Your bike engine will not be fully "warmed" up until you've actually ridden it for a few miles. ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

...Just start it.
If it tries to cut out, keep adding a little choke till it will idle.
Switch it off as soon as it will idle without it. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

still, if your using choke now and its not really cold you might want to have a look at your fuelling, carbs ect. or get your local bike garage to look.
